Apple Capital – Ellijay, Georgia (20 minutes)

Going apple picking is a North Georgia fall tradition you just can’t miss! In fact, at Ellijay’s orchards you can experience the thrill of a tractor ride to the trees where you and your family can pick and sample juicy, crisp apples freshly picked. It’s an experience unlike any other. Many of North Georgia’s apple orchards are family-owned and operated for generations. Plus most orchards feature apple picking, petting zoos, tractor rides, pumpkin cannons, face painting, and more family fun each fall, and have stores of apples and apple products for purchase year ‘round.

Once you book a stay at Appalachian Sky, you’ll want to visit several of our local orchards whenever you’re in North Georgia. If you’re visiting in October, the Georgia Apple Festival has been held over two weekends in Ellijay annually since 1971. Furthermore the event attracts thousands of visitors to North Georgia each year from all over the country. There are hundreds of vendors selling food, art, crafts, and more.
