Visit Gibbs Gardens, a 336-acre estate garden in nearby Ball Ground. Gibbs Gardens is recognized as one of the Thirteen Best Botanical Gardens in America, and was also named top garden in Georgia by the Atlanta Journal Constitution. This world-class attraction features 250+ acres of landscaped gardens surrounded by forest, spring- fed ponds, streams, waterfalls and bridges. This family-friendly destination attracts thousands of visitors annually. The gardens make for a perfect day trip any time of year, but early spring is especially popular as 50 acres with millions of daffodils bloom March-April. There’s a café and gift shop on site, and Gibbs has an online calendar that shows what plants are in bloom.

Finish your day in historic downtown Ball Ground, a small town rocking with unique local restaurants and shops, a bakery, a craft brewery, and a barrel-aged coffee house. Then return to Appalachian Sky Cottage in Big Canoe to see the sunset.
